In Burkina Faso, women live in a precarious situation, marked by clear discrimination, both socially and in the labour market.
For instance, the majority of women in the village of Kotédougou cannot read or write, and are confined to working in localized trade.
One of CAT SYA’s objectives is to empower the entrepreneurial spirit of women, promoting teamwork and motivation to improve their income level and consequently their quality of life and that of their families.
We firmly believe in the potential that women represent, and we believe that the best way to support them is by promoting activities that can generate income while fostering empathy and bonds of solidarity among them.
Actions carried out by CAT SYA during these years:
-Formations for the production of natural Shea butter soap, peanut paste, and/or sumbala; and for the use of technologies for shelling corn or peanuts.
-Promotion of literacy and training in basic accounting so that women can manage the accounts of their associations.
-Sensitization on various topics such as entrepreneurship and the importance of hygiene and environmental care.
