Donations throughout CAT SYA’s 15 years of existence
Before CAT SYA existed in 2007, a group of friends from Barcelona donated 150 mattresses, 150 mosquito nets, and 80 beds to the Dafinso school in Houet, which was run by the local NGO Wuro Yiré and financed by Terre des Hommes in Germany.
- From 2008 to 2014, donations were made by CAT SYA of medicines for healthcare centers in various towns (Dafinso, Yegueresso, Kofila, Kotédougou), as well as donations accompanying the sponsorship project for schools (clothing, bicycles, school materials, etc.). Conductors Solidaris de Catalunya also donated an ambulance for the dispensaries in the surroundings of Bobo-Diulasso, as well as transportation for 25 second-hand computers donated by CAT SYA for different schools and associations.
- In 2009, a donation was made by ROTARY CLUB LES CORTS from Barcelona, managed by CAT SYA, of 40 bicycles for the orphaned children of an association in Bobo-Dioulasso (Association for the Education and Support of Orphaned and Vulnerable Children, A.S.S.E.O).
- In 2011, a donation was made by the ROTARY CLUB LES CORTS of Barcelona, managed by CAT SYA, of furniture and school materials for the new Kotedugú-B school, which was built thanks to the mediation of CAT SYA.
- In 2013, a donation was made by CAT SYA of pharmacy kits equipped with different types of medicines to various schools in the Hauts Bassins region.
- In 2013, a donation was made by the association Bicicletes sense Frontera from Girona with the collaboration of Cat Sya, of 60 bicycles for the boys and girls of Kotédugú who live far away from the school.
- In 2014, CAT SYA donated a significant supply of medicine to the Bobo-Diulasso prison.
- In 2015, a donation was made to the Catalan Agency for Cooperation and Development (ACCD) of 4 laptops for the schools participating in the project “Promotion of school exchanges to promote culture: Let’s get to know each other!”.
- In 2015, a donation was made of a corn threshing machine to a women’s association of the Peul ethnic group: Weltare, “Female Group for Milk Production,” in the village of Koro. A mill for grain processing and a crusher were also installed and put into operation. The funding came from a group of T2M businessmen and the invaluable help of a member of Cat Sya’s family who wanted to contribute the money raised during their communion.
In 2016, a donation of computer equipment and printers was made by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), the AULA school – Labdoo project – and many other people, transported in a container chartered by the NGO MUJERES BURKINA.
BENEFICIARIES:
- The most important public institute in our city, called Ouezzin Coulibaly (LOC), with which the NGO carries out the School Reinforcement project for girls without resources:
– 37 second-hand desktop computers and 3 new printers. The institute did not have computers or an IT room until it received our donation. - Ecole Nationale des Enseignants du Primaire (ENEP) of Bobo-Dioulasso:
– 7 second-hand desktop computers and 2 laptops. - Inspection no9 of Bobo, which includes the towns of Bekui and Lena:
– 12 desktop computers and 5 second-hand laptops. - CAT SYA collaborators:
– 2 desktop computers and 5 second-hand laptops. - “School Reinforcement for girls without resources” Project:
– 24 second-hand laptops.
- In 2016, Cat Sya collaborators donated 600 new t-shirts intended for the students of the Kotédougou-“B” school.
- In 2017, a donation of computer equipment by individuals was made through a truck chartered by a member of the Burkinese Association of Barcelona.
