Sponsored children

The sponsorship project of CAT SYA additionally finances reinforcement classes in addition to school fees and expenses.

Reinforcement in difficult subjects such as mathematics, physics and chemistry, English or French, is provided so that underprivileged children can improve their academic performance and successfully complete the school year, ensuring the completion of the educational cycle.

Reinforcement Classes

In the city of Bobo, classes are held at the headquarters of CAT SYA, while in the village of Kotedugú, they take place at the "B" school, the literacy and vocational training center, and the institute throughout the academic year

Different teachers teach the courses and accompany the children, helping them resolve their doubts. This extra support is an extraordinary assistance provided to the sponsored children.

Emotional and educational support

In addition to the cost of schooling and academic materials, CAT SYA prioritizes reinforcement classes for sponsored children. These children, who have more difficult living conditions as they are orphans or live in extreme poverty, are given the opportunity to improve their academic performance. Through sponsorship, these children feel supported and somewhat privileged, knowing that the NGO looks after them. This makes them feel important and boosts their self-esteem.

The Bobo headquarters are open for the use of sponsored children. During the school year, they primarily come to study, participate in reinforcement classes, health sessions, intensive training, movie sessions, etc. During the holidays (rainy season in Burkina), they attend for other activities, especially the garden that they themselves set up and take care of...

Complementary activities

CAT SYA offers a variety of activities at its headquarters, including a library to promote studying and reading. They also provide workshops in sewing, agricultural techniques, visual arts, and computer skills. Additionally, there are storytelling sessions, football matches, and awareness sessions on various topics such as unwanted pregnancies, environmental issues like climate change, hygiene, waste management, and cleaning public and private spaces.

The academic results achieved by the sponsored children are a great success! For instance, during the pandemic, despite the complexity of the situation, the pass rate was extraordinary, reaching 82%. This motivates us to continue with the project.
